Military personnel sought for impaired driving panels

Impaired Driving Impact Panel of Island County, or IDIPIC, is looking for military personnel to attend and speak at their DUI/Underage Drinking prevention panels.

The panels are for all military personnel, spouses and Department of Defense personnel as year-round education and awareness. Included during the panels are videos, demonstrations, audience participation, question-and-answer sessions and more. The panels also include presentations by local volunteer speakers.

Currently IDIPIC offers one panel a month on base at the Skywarrior Theater. Base panels run about two hours with a short break, depending on the speaker portion.

According to IDIPIC’s website, “command can either reserve their own or join a panel already reserved. This training is encouraged at least every two years; at that point, there is enough of a change of personnel that may not have had this training.”

If a command would like a panel sooner than this, IDIPIC tries to accommodate that. Commands can contact IDIPIC Director and Panel Facilitator JoAnn Hellmann at 360-672-8219 or email idipic@idipic.org
